Not to us, O Lord, not to us
But to your name goes all the glory
For your unfailing love and faithfulness.
Psalm 115:1

Value statement

We will fulfill our created purpose as we revere and enjoy God in all we do, worshiping Him in Spirit and in truth. We will live desiring His presence, dependent on His power, aligning with His purpose, and obedient to His Word. We will call out to Him personally and corporately, with expectation that He will answer.

Our mission & impact

WELCOME! Thank you for volunteering to serve! Our mission is to create an environment in our weekend services where people can encounter God. We hope that you will also encounter God's presence as you serve at Heartland Alliance Church.
Worship Arts volunteers facilitate worship in numerous ways. We serve as musicians and tech teams primarily for the weekend services in Heartland West and for the Heartland livestream. There are also opportunities to serve at retreats, Nights of Prayer, Nights of Worship, weddings, funerals, and other events.

Planning Center Online

We use an online scheduling app called Planning Center Online (PCO). This is our primary means of communication with you! We use PCO to schedule our people, plan our services, and to distribute music and charts. Here is what you can expect:
  • You will receive a welcome email inviting you to set up an account with PCO.
    • Feel free to be as personal as you wish! We want to get to know you! You can add birthdays, anniversaries, upload a profile picture, etc.
  • You may choose to download the PCO Services app for iOS or Android, or simply log in to the desktop version in your browser.
  • Please interact with PCO as often as you can; especially on weeks when you are scheduled to serve!
  • When you have been requested to serve, you will receive an email or app notification through which you may accept or decline the invitation.
For a quick tutorial on how to block out dates, where to locate song files and how to find other helpful information in PCO, please take a look at this PDF file.

Rehearsals & Services

Here is some important information for you regarding our rehearsals and services.
Once you're done reading this section, please be sure to select the appropriate PDF to get more detailed information for your particular volunteer role.

REHEARSAL TIMES
We rehearse Thursday nights at 7:00 PM for the in-person services in the West Auditorium (please arrive early enough so you are ready to START at 7:00 PM!).  Be sure to always check your emails and PCO to confirm the details, as there will be exceptions from time to time. Note that choir details vary (day, time and location), so please pay special attention to these details if you're serving in choir. All tech volunteers, with the exception of sound volunteers, are welcome to join but are NOT required to be there. Sound techs are always needed for rehearsal.

EXPECTATIONS
When attending rehearsal, please be sure to:
  • Show up
  • Show up on time
  • Show up prepared
If you're unable to make rehearsal (we understand that unexpected issues can come up), please give us as much of a heads-up as possible.
WEEKEND SERVICES - DURING & BETWEEN
Saturday evenings, we do a full sound check and run-through starting at 4:00 PM. There will also be a quick pre-service meeting in the Board Room, where we will also provide dinner for you! There are also snacks and drinks for you. All tech volunteers are required at this time.

Sunday mornings, we do a quick sound check and run-through at 8:30 AM for the West Auditorium services.

We encourage you to sit in for at least one full service, including the sermon. If you have already sat in a service and need a place to hang out when not on stage, you can make your way to the Board Room where the service is also streamed and we have a few snacks and beverages available for you.

DRESS CODE
We are a come-as-you-are Church, so no formal wear is needed. However, we ask that you try to look nice when you are on stage (clean and unwrinkled clothing, etc.). The point is that we don't want to distract others - we want them to see Jesus when they look at us!

  • No shorts
  • No hats

LADIES
