Heartland Kids Weekend Staff

Heartland Kids is seeking individuals to fill a variety of roles in children’s ministry during weekend services. These people will work alongside HK staff and volunteers to provide a safe and supportive environment for children and their families. Team members will have a strong faith in God, enjoy working with children, display creativity and effective communication, show a willingness to be flexible, manage their time wisely, and be willing to work in a team to help implement and maintain Heartland Kids' safety guidelines and procedures.

Hours:
  • 7 hrs weekly, (4:30–7:30 pm Saturdays, 8:30 am–12:30 pm Sundays)
  • This is a permanent position with July and August off each year.
Experience:
  • Applicants must have graduated from high school, with preference given to those with work history in a related field or applicable educational background.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with HK staff
  • Classroom Lead in all ages of HK classrooms
  • Weekend Lead Staff Member (point person when necessary)
  • Help with set up/clean up and other tasks
  • Mentoring volunteers as needed
  • Up-to-date CRC (for over 18), IRC (if applicable), and OP training.

Summer Groundskeeper

Heartland is seeking an individual to be responsible for keeping the grounds of Heartland’s Highway 21 Campus in ideal condition throughout the spring, summer and early fall.

Primary Responsibilities
Lawn Care
  • Mowing and trimming all grass (both the east and west fields, around the facility)
  • Watering grass alongside the facility as necessary
  • Weed control as necessary
  • Reseeding as necessary
  • Trimming along the pond, fence lines and the south slope
  • Collecting large rocks and/or cement from the east fields
Trees and Shrubs
  • Trimming and weeding all shrub beds around the building and the HAC sign
  • Controlling tree growth in runoff area east of pond
  • Ongoing cleanup of treed section alongside southwest fence
Garbage and Cleaning
  • Keeping outside garbage bins and the dump bin area tidy
  • Emptying outside garbage bins
  • Power-washing building entrance mats, sidewalks
  • Washing outside windows
  • General external cleanup (around SeaCans, ongoing litter pickup, etc.)
  • Other general maintenance duties as assigned by the Facility Coordinator

Hours
  • This is a full-time position; working hours are generally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • This is a temporary seasonal position, ending between August 31 to September 30, 2025 — to be determined by Facility Coordinator based on Heartland’s need and employee’s availability.
