Young Adult Kickoff
This Wednesday, September 10th we are gathering for the first time this fall. We are now at Heartland's New Campus and will be meeting in the Gate Auditorium (just follow the signs).
If you have never been out to Young Adults, we encourage you to come check it out, meet the team, meet new people, and build community. Whatever stage you find yourself in... Whether you are exploring options in life, in school, or already working in a career, you are welcome!
The format of the night is a mix of large group discussion and small group breakout. We enjoy some worship too! We love to “switch it up” every once in a while so keep up to date with the bulletin, Facebook Page, or Tuesday text-out.
This first night back we will get to know each other with some activities and also explore the events setting up the Book of Acts. The book of Acts teaches us that the Holy Spirit empowers every believer to fulfill the divine purposes given to us by our Heavenly Father as we operate in the authority of God's Son, Jesus Christ. Think about the final words Jesus said to His disciples before he ascended into heaven and the mission that he left for all Christians to follow. Read Acts 1:1-11.
Take a moment to reflect on our purpose in this life in light of the 5 Values Heartland has set out:
Pursuing God’s Presence, Connecting In Community, Becoming Like Jesus, Serving Others Freely, and Reaching Our World.
Which of the values do you enjoy doing the most? Which do you struggle with? Why? In what ways can you make these values more a part of your life this fall? What does God want to say to you in terms of becoming like Jesus? Is there, one word, that would describe what He wants you to focus on in terms of your personal growth?
We pray that as we meet together, “We may consider how we may spur one another on towards good deeds, not giving up in meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.” - Hebrews 10:24-25
Hope to see you there!
Blessings from the YA Team
