The Gate Year End Long Lake Party
This past Saturday, the Gate Community celebrated their year out at Long Lake. Although the rain poured hard the first couple hours before kind of clearing, we had an amazing day. We were thankful that Long Lake had recently built a covering that had a bunch of picnic tables underneath it. This became home base for the day. Even with the rain, the Gate was still able to enjoy barbecue lunch and supper, frisbee football, tubing in the water, and paintball. The day closed with the Gate service where our band led with some great acoustic worship. We did an encouragement farewell and prayer time for one of our long-time leaders, Jordan Bouma, who leaves this fall for school in Ontario. We closed on a message that continued to challenge the theme of the year, Pursuing God's Presence. Finally, after a great day, with the bus pulling out the sun came out to shine and it was a beautiful ride home. You got to love Alberta!
