Fort McMurray - We Are With You!
Our friends, families, and neighbours in Fort McMurray are in an unprecedented crisis. Never before have so many people in our province needed to be evacuated from a city. We are so thankful for the front line emergency workers who have worked tirelessly to help evacuate the city and who continue the work to bring the wildfires under control. With hot temperatures and strong winds there is much work to be done. We continue to pray for them... for safety, strength, courage, endurance and wisdom.
We also continue to pray for the people of Fort McMurray during this immensely tough time. We are with you Fort McMurray!
In support of Fort McMurray, donations can be made through the Canadian Red Cross by clicking here. You can also text to 30333 with the message REDCROSS and your phone bill will receive an additional $5 charge.
The Red Cross has set up a family reunification line for evacuees: 1-888-350-6070.
In the coming days, there will be other ways that we can help. Strathcona County will be posting updates on a special Fort McMurray page as information becomes available. You can also see Emergency Updates posted by the Alberta Government.
